The free Navigation licences are as... moreIn Australia the longest license you get is six months.
E71 it's 7 days.
The N96 sold here is made in China.
All these people say "Made in China" is no good, what's with that, THEY ARE DIRECTLY FROM NOKIA.
Why does Nokia send us their rubbish phones?
love this phone. This is the best I've had by far. The pictures and videos are just clear and even the sounds... I would definitely recommend this phone to others.

I still havnt had a real product in my hand....so final judgment is yet 2 be maid..
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. I have been a nokia fan for a long time......not any more.
I purchased this phone (Australia) and have returned it twice. I am now on my 3rd, however the menu has changed from my first 2!! Have other Australians had faults? I have been told by the store they have since had a (80ish% return rate), I must of been one of the first to buy.
The staff told me that it has definatley changed menu designs, looking more like the N95. Makes me wonder if it still has the same specs.
TOTALLY LOST RESPECT FOR THE COMPANY!!!!
Good

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Oh and 1 more thing the bettery life of the N96 is very low.....y should i pay another R500 4 a BL-5F2 (1200 mAh) bettery when iv alredy spent R10 750 on the darn phone?
It dosnt make sence......
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Hell yeah im fussy....the N96 is ovaprised......evry 1 is saying that ....i 4 1 realised it 1st hand...its only been released 3 weeks but the slide is wobly and body full of scratches at the back....
No ways....N95 8GB dumies look newer than N96 1nes....yet they almost 2 years old.
Id like 2 see you pay R10 750 for a phone thats got a 5 year old chip set...and a slow CPU that lags even wen having 7GB of its internal memory...that will also look & feel like its 8months old when its only 3 weeks coz its prone 2 scratches..
I dnt knw about you.. but im not willing 2 spend R10 750 for all of that!
I work 4 Nokia so il wait till they give me 1 at work.
i think that i might get it but i am not sure?? should I
Anonymous, 12 Nov 2008i just bought my n96, and it's a disappointment, three days after my purchase the software pla... moremaybe its china phone thats why a few weeks/days its not working anymore..

VoIP 2.1 support for WLAN and Cellular. However there are many sites (see External Links at the bottom) over the web claiming that VoIP client is removed from N96 (ie. VoIP client which can be used directly by end-user, not VoIP API which can be used by software developers in their applications). N95, which has built-in VoIP client, can be used for internet calling without installing any additional software. Of course third party VoIP applications can still be used on both phones (N95 and N96), but they are not always so reliable as the built-in one.
The pencil button that allows you to mark/unmark items and highlight text is not included.BUT This action can still be done however, by pressing and holding down the # key'.

Anonymous, 12 Nov 2008zzz dont critisize any phone developer on tis section, makes no different, every phone is unique... moreMaybe if people didn't say this phone is the best, when obviously there are better phones out there.
Who's fault is this?
Nokia, for once again falling behind the leaders in the field, and now (as usual) they are playing catch up.
Yet, people are quite happy to accept their marketing at face value.
"wat is INNOV8 w/o s60 develope by nokia?"
Nokia contributed to Symbian's development, they are not the only one's, that is why other manufacturers can use it.
Here's an example:-
"LONDON, UK; June 24, 2008 - Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola and NTT DOCOMO announced today their intent to unite Symbian OS™, S60, UIQ and MOAP(S) to create one open mobile software platform. Together with AT&T, LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, STMicroelectronics, Texas Instruments and Vodafone they plan to establish the Symbian Foundation to extend the appeal of this unified software platform."
