HarryD, 21 Jun 2017Isn't it entirely possible that this phone is unofficially water-resistant?
I remember the On... moreIts more than likely. But meeting a standard isnt necessarily easy and even if the phone would be close to some standard, its probably easier, cheaper and with less legal problems to not give promises.
Moto G5 doesnt have any water resistance officially, but definitely is resistant to it.
jabnakar, 21 Jun 2017axon 7s has 75mm width? It seems it has 75 mm width, but this one not.
Pooja J, 21 Jun 2017So ive been waiting for OP5 since last 6 month and now i sad because its not worth price they ... moreLook at ZTE Nubia 17, I really like that phone, even if it does have a IPS display.
Tbh OP5 doesn`t worth buying it atm, not even for supporting OP as a team. I know they are small team, they put passion into it, but they could be more original to it and also offer a bit more for that price tag to continue what OP3 had last year. Cheers
A real flagship killer would, at least, have water/splash and doost proof in my opinion. And a better resolution display. As an OP3 owner, I get my thumb down for this simple because they lost originality with OP5. It becamed a copycat with not so much addition.
Isn't it entirely possible that this phone is unofficially water-resistant?
I remember the OnePlus 3T standing up well to water tests.
Decent price ($300 less than iPhone )
Smaller battery than OP3T
Low resolution display compared to flagships
No stereo speakers.
No 3D touch
No wireless charging ( also absent in iPhone 7)
No expandable storage (64 GB would be too less in 1-2 years)
They should have priced it at $400 then it would be super hit all over the world.
Who really needs 8 GB RAM? Nobody. Who needs a dual high-megapixel camera if the quality is still mediocre? Nobody. So why should we pay for something that seems impressive on paper but in reality it's not that great or even useless. However, if the price was lower I wouldn't complain. It would be a great, maybe the best mid range phone.
bought s7 lately for just $450 with same camera specs with s8+(base on google) and they both performed well on camera shots😊😊by the way the most affordable price for one plus 5 is $570+😊
So ive been waiting for OP5 since last 6 month and now i sad because its not worth price they are offering :(
Does anyone know any good brand with same SD835, good camera and battery and around same price ?
Mi6 Plus looks good to me but does anyone know why Xiaomi phone have only Marshmallow ? even upcoming model is showing MM ... World is moved to Nougat and xiaomi still stuck with MM ? do they offer software update ?
Nah, there's a huge gap in design between OP5 and S8.... if u want style S8 is atm the best on the market.
As far as specs go...let's be real....90% of users will never be ale to hit the limit of an S6-7....how will they ever reach the limit of an S8.
Camera might be better but not by much. Battery is slightly better.
All in all not worth the price IMO. If u have ~500E to throw on this phone..u might as well go for a 700E or less S8 which you know won't lose it's value as fast as this phone over time AND has much better customer support and spare parts.
Eagerly waiting to buy the phone. But seems the options are not that great at a price of 500 Euros.
JOHN, 21 Jun 2017Electronic image stabilization (EIS) is an image enhancement technique using electronic proces... moreThanks John for the information. But I personally think that OnePlus 5 should have had OIS. I personally feel OIS is better than EIS because in OIS there is no software processing which reduces the delay of stabilising the the images.
Well, basically, it's a mixed emotions. In a way, okay it's the SD835 and dual camera setup (16MP+20MP), BT5, etc. But on the other hand, again without an SD slot, etc, and price really increased. So well, it's subjective, but probably it's good to take a look around. Maybe to the Mi6, etc. And maybe to the (hopefully) upcoming ZTE Axon 8, etc.
man, 21 Jun 2017no ois, no ir blaster, no fm radio, no micro sd slot, no ip68, high price are deal breaker. And no Ird..
Seems lots of people want the OnePlus 5 to be an S8 at the price of the OnePlus 5!
if OP5 is 25% more power efficient, with its 835 processor, than OP3T, which is powered by an 821 processor, how come both devices have the same battery endurance of 83 hours? The only difference I see among them is100 mAh. I would have expected a lot more from the newer processor..
