The Find X10 Pro Max design is very similar to last year's Find X9 Pro, but with a twist. There's an additional aluminum-made camera island that Oppo calls Lumo Camera Island, because it houses the True Color Camera and the LED flash.
The main island, on the other hand, is strongly akin to the iQOO 15. But this one has a subtle knurling and an orange accent around it that's in line with the Hasselblad camera aesthetics.
The overall build is nothing short of premium. The flat frame around the device is made of anodized aluminum with slightly contoured edges for a more comfortable grip. It's really nice to the touch, and along with the matte glass finish on the back, the X10 Pro Max exudes quality. But as you’d expect it’s a bit slippery.
Internationally, the handset comes in two color variants - Titanium Grey and Luna White. While a third color option - Orange - is available in China, it won't come to overseas markets.
We have the Luna white color for review, which features a subtle stripe pattern and not-so-subtle Oppo and Hasselblad logos. The striped pattern on the back is in fact under the glass, so surprisingly, it doesn't feel any different to the touch than the rest of the back glass.
The front and back glass panels are protected by Oppo Crystal Guard Glass, which has been co-developed with Corning. And speaking of protection, the device features IP66, IP68 and IP69 ingress protection against water and dust.
There’s nothing unusual around the sides. The volume rocker and the power button are on the right, while the left houses the so-called Snap Key, which is customizable.
Somewhat of a backward development is the omission of the hardware camera-centric Quick Button - the X9 Pro had it, as did the X9 Ultra, but it's gone now. That's becoming a trend with high-end cameraphones as vivos have been losing them too.
The bottom is where you will find the SIM card tray containing two physical SIM card slots. The device also supports eSIM functionality, but only two SIM cards can stay active at a time.
The fingerprint reader is of the ultrasonic kind and works flawlessly. This one also comes with the so-called Splash Touch feature, which means it will work even if the screen is wet or has tiny droplets on it.
All in all, we are huge fans of the design. The Find X10 Pro Max proves that you can fit potent and bulky camera hardware in a more aesthetically pleasing camera island design, while the flat design language is in line with modern smartphone aesthetics.
