Realme Android Announcement

Realme introduced the Q5i earlier this week, and now it adds two more family members were announced - Realme Q5 and Realme Q5 Pro.

The Realme Q5 has a 6.6” LCD with 120Hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution. There's a punch hole in the top left corner for the 16MP f/2.1 selfie camera.

There are three more cameras on the back. The alignment is the same as the Realme 9 Pro (as is the rest of the body), but the sensors behind the lenses are different. We have a 50MP main shooter, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth shooter.

The Snapdragon 695 5G and the 5,000 mAh battery are also borrowed from the 9 Pro, as well as the side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The Realme Q5 offers speedier 60W SuperDart charging, though.

The phone will launch with Android 12 and Realme UI 3.0. It is currently available for pre-order in China in three colors - Silver, Gold, and Black, with sales scheduled to begin on April 27. Prices are CNY1,399 ($220) for the 6/128 GB version, CNY1,599 ($250) for 8/128 GB, and CNY1,799 ($280) for 8/256 GB.

The Realme Q5 Pro borrows the display, battery capacity and overall design from the Realme GT2.

The 6.62” AMOLED with 120Hz refresh rate has a fingerprint scanner underneath and a 16MP selfie camera in the upper left corner.

Around the back is a 64MP main camera, alongside 8MP ultrawide snapper and a 2MP macro shooter. The chipset here is the relatively old, but still capable Snapdragon 870.

The significant change Realme implemented in the Q5 Pro is 80W fast charging for the 5,000 mAh battery. This is among the fastest in the company’s portfolio, trailing only behind the revolutionary GT Neo3.

There is a Black color option with a 6/128 GB memory that costs CNY1,899 ($300). There are Yellow and White variants with a checkered-flag design for CNY2,099 ($325) or CNY2,299 ($360), as they only come in 8/128 GB and the 8/256 GB options.

In what way? It comes with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 870 that's a lot better than Mediatek's Dimensity 1100. Far more faster and efficient.
