Xiaomi Redmi Android

Xiaomi introduced the Redmi K30 Pro just two days ago, alongside the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom with a telephoto camera. Initially, both devices were announced with 8/256 GB memory at most, but it appears the Zoom variant will be able to go a bit higher as evidenced by a retailer listing.

Officially, the Redmi K30 Pro Zoom comes with a 64 MP + 8 MP telephoto + 13 MP ultrawide + 2 MP depth cameras. The zoom from the second one is 3x optical and can get up to 30x hybrid, and it has OIS for good measure.

During the announcement, the Snapdragon 865-powered flagship was announced in two versions - 8/128 GB, priced CNY3,799 ($535) and 8/256 GB for CNY3,999 ($565). The upcoming 12/512 GB monster version costs CNY4,499 (about $635) as per JD.com. The launch date for the first flash sale remains April 4.

Everything over $500 will be a hard sell this year. People worry about their health, jobs and future but not about new and shiny $1k smartphone.

Snapdragon 865 + X55 modem is way more expensive than 855 with built in modem. Lack of competition for flagship SOC's is going to hurt big time. LG went with lower end 765 with built in 5g. I hope we see Dimension 1000 phones soon as well.
