Alongside the expected Mi Band 5, Xiaomi’s Redmi sub-brand is ready to introduce its first wearable. The company uploaded two teaser posters on its official Weibo page which give us a clear look at what to expect. The Redmi smartband will be unveiled at the Xiaomi Smart Inn conference which starts at 2 PM local time.
It will feature a rectangular color screen and will come with a silicone strap in black, blue, red and green color options. Apart from this, we don’t have any other details about the Redmi band.
Back in January, we did come across a BIS certification for what is believed to be the Redmi band. In addition, some Weibo users managed to dig out the device's key specs from within the MiFit app. These include support for heart-rate tracking, NFC, music controls, alarms and weather info.
We should also expect the Redmi band to be a more affordable alternative to the Mi Band line. We’ll just have to wait for tomorrow’s big event to see what Redmi has in store.
