Brilliant move by Sony especially in choosing not to call it a "mini". And the reviewer is right, when any phone has that moniker many a consumer tend to think it has less than the flagships. And I think 4.3 inches is actually quite a good size.

First on water proof flagship, first in making compact flagship. And helds the most compact and least bezel flagship called xperia ZL. Optimus gj and s4 active imitate Sony's lead. LG and Samsung are patent trolls. So, just be thankful that Sony is not as greed as Apple.

ace, 09 Jan 2014I want compact smartphone with almost NO bezel. This should already a perfect one but that hug... moreI really agree with you! That's exactly what I'm looking for. The LG G2 still has my interest but I find the menus and all that a bit tacky and boring.

This is a good lesson for Samsung as they release "mini" versions of their high-end devices... Follow Sony and keep all the aspects of the high-end device but encase it in a more compact shell...Unless that's not what the "mini" phones are about...?

First of all what's the differances between all 5 inch devices??Do u know?? Better specs, S/W, display, battery and camera.
It's not same display compact use IPS panel with perfect viewing engels, bettert color accuracy and it has triluminos display.

I want compact smartphone with almost NO bezel. This should already a perfect one but that huge useless bezel turned me down, such a waste of possible screen estate.

It's as large as the smartphone I used to own, and that one didn't hav... moreIf your phone was released 3 years ago, where the standard screen sizes are 4" - 4.3", then there's no point in doing a mini of it. The XZ Compact is a "mini", or rather say "compact", of TODAY'S standards. NOT 3 years ago.

Well, i've got a news for you: ips is a technology (amongst others such as va and tn) used to produce tft lcds.. thus ips lcds are just a subset of tft lcds, not something different.
