You just look at specs and rant. Sorry paper spec boy, stop reading specs and get out of your basement and go out and test phone for REAL.

Even with the faults of the pixel, it still has a better display, camera, software. All the iPhone has is superfluous performance that only shows in benchmarks. Battery life is similar, design on both is uninspired
Both are not going to win beauty pageant. I agree.. Except if the Pixel wears the white-blue dress.. I like the Pixel design only with the "really blue" color option. Too bad it's limited edition.
It's fine to see this comparison, but do you think we could get the actual review of the regular Pixel, before we start running the comparison articles?
Camera quality is subjective in these tests. I can't tell which images captured the scenes more accurately because I wasn't there.
Perhaps next time, it would be better to use a third DSLR with manual controls as a control group?
Just because an image is more saturated and pleasing to the eye doesn't mean it's necessarily better - depends on your own tastes I guess.
I can post process and image if I need it punchier.
Lol that second HDR example on the i7 is downright terrible. And also, on a more positive note, the Pixel XL's HDR+ in both daylight and nighttime is just incredible. It works like magic in low light, very impressed. Can't say the same abt the i7's camera though.
Anonymous, 01 Nov 2016I have an iPad with Apple A7 SoC (3 years old) and it is blazing fast so shut your mouthI have an iPad 4 Retina with A6x without lags in 3D gaming, transition from one page to another nor switching from 1 app to another, so shut his mouth times 2 xD
-both are ugly .
-both are lacking basic features .
-both are overpriced .
btw iCrap has better display . AMOLED sucks .

Pixel XL's HDR+ is actually an automated photoshop. In other words: cheating. But it's acceptable if it gives good photos.
However, you don't have manual controls with Pixel XL and HDR+. If you install 3rd party camera app to get manual controls, you won't have the advantages of HDR+ mode. Plus, Pixel XL is lacking of OIS and affected by flaregate. And the aperture is relatively (f/1.8 is the standard today) dim, it's only f/2.0.
The second camera in iPhone 7 Plus is a joke. It has dimmer aperture and no OIS. So it has worse quality. You can't even control when to use it.

As an long term Android fanboy I must admit that the better phone is the iPhone 7+. The Pixel is an insult to every Android fan and nobody should buy it so we can have a better product from Holy Google next year. Shame.

Have you tried using newer iOS versions on 2+ year old apple hardware? It's painfully slow. OperationBlitz , 31 Oct 2016I cant believe that so called mobile phone users are choosing phones solely because it takes b... moreAh well some use their phones as their MAIN CAMERA. That's why even a tiny difference of 10% better photo quality matters, for them. I never did care about mobile cameras, but honestly after looking at S7, Pixel, iPhone samples, OnePlus 3's samples don't look too promising.
Well, any comparison shouldn't be limited within the criteria GSMARENA just showed. The overall experience also matters. Some might love pixel and some might iPhone. iPhone has better yearly update support, better speed feats opening games and apps, stereo front facing speaker which is deal breaker to some. On the other hand, pixel let people customize their phone the way they like. So when considering to pick a phone those things should also be considered. That's my opinion though.
The last iPhone I had was a 3g. Since then I've used a Sony Xperia, Nexus 5, Idol 3, Asus Zenfone 2 laser, Nexus 5x, and S7. I'm an Android fan. But you missed one huge difference between the products:
Apple's products have historically received 4 years of updates after release. Google promises 2 years of updates for the pixel.
This was satisfactory for a Nexus device which cost half what an iPhone cost. But the pixel is roughly equal to the iPhone in cost, and 2 years of updates is insufficient.
