I've been an owner of the w960i for a couple of days now and so far I feel like I've made a great purchase. Most of the time I use my fingers to navigate, but sometimes for instance when you write a text message, the styulus will be very useful. It is possible to navigate with only one hand.
Just a few questions for someone who actually has this phone. Nokia haters please dont answer my questions if you dont actually have the handset yourself.
Just read this review and in the conclusion it says how you need to use the stylus? I was just wondering does the stylus require to be used alot if your just going to use the hand set for sms and calls?
also, Is this phone worth buying?
thanking you in advanced
rung up o2 yesterday and they the release date for this phone is 31st dec.
when u plug hpm-70 handsfree in to k750i the music quality and loudness equal to w810i. not any differnt at al. same situation apears earliar models w910i and k850i. so bettr choice is k850i
W960i, ringing sound is louder than K850i but if you hear music than K850i is louder! So, if you want to buy a phone which plays louder sound, then K850i is louder than W960i... The choice is yours! :) You can check the review!
pls sincerely i av SE W810i phone but the sound effect(loudness)is not as much as i expected, now the w960 is out and i luv it,thinkin about going for it.Pls is W960i more effective(loud)in sound production.Pls i need ur reply
I just wanted to know which phone is worthy of buying... K850i or W960i? I'm a bit confused as i love music as well as clicking pics. And i'm afraid that W960i being a symbion will be having bugs and viruses, like in nokia. Where as K850i is worthy.... And also W960i might be too delicate as it's having touch screen and K850i is having much higher sound than W960i !!! The only disgusting thing about W960i is that it might be prone to viruses... And i don't want that! So, will you guys help me soughting out which phone i should buy! Please reply honestly...
First i had a W550i and now i'm having K790i and now i don't know which phone to buy? And of course i want a SE. :)
when this w960 cellphone must be available in the Philippines and where can i buy it?
does this device can be locked by a security code, like every nokia phone??? i mean when the keypad is locked, can we use a password to unlock it??
what everyone seems to forget in their rush to prove this phone is bad is that memory sticks cost a lot of money. A 4 gb costs £40 (about $80) and £85 (about $170) for an 8 gb one. So when you are seeing if this is worth buying, just add £85 to the price of the other phone u want without 8bg storage.
arash: i think it is unfair to make comparisons to the whole of the Sony Ericson brand with one particular example. i think you will find that in the majority of cases, the quality gets steadily better, or is at least of the same quality. I admit, there are some exceptions such as the one u pointed out. I am personally very dissapointed with the quality of the w850, but still. There is no reason why this phone should have any worse quality screen than the w950. I would be willing to bet that they are the same screen (same manufacturer) with a special layer on top.
i think that we should all wait before SPECULATING about this phone. Only prerelease version have been seen so far.
DaMan:because lastest sony ericsson phones is not better than the older phones for example w810 sound quality and display quality is so better than w850
# No memory card slot (yeah, we know it has 8GB of internal memory)
wtf does gsmarena mean by this? ?how come this is a disadvantage ??
Ah, my mistake. Memory is flash.
Still, with 4gb Memory Stick Micros the memory really isn't very appealing. Memory Stick Micros are really small so if you use a proper mobile case you can always carry an extra memory with you (I do this) and voila you'll have 8gb memory for practically nothing. I'm not bashing SE, I love them and the W960 is awesome. But it's important not to be carried away with the hype and really test a phone like this thouroghly before a purchase.
The w960i is flash memory, not mechanical. Why would they put a HD in the phone, that would be retarded. Plus, is this bash SE now? I think this phone has a lot to offer.
I'd recommend testing this phone thoroughly before buying it due to some obvious shortcomings that might occur.
First, harddisks are often very unstable compared to flash memories and with flash memories up to 4gb I wouldn't buy this phone for the available memory.
Also, if you're listening to music and the harddisk is shaken the music will stutter. This does not happen with flash memories.
Second, the touch interface is basically the same as on the P1 so if you've tried the P1 and wasn't happy don't expect to like this. I personally hate the P1 so I'll stay away from the w960. You even have to question the need for a touch-screen on this device. It doesn't really have any practial application. The screen is also washed out compared to other SE phones so keep that in mind.
With the back button removed, the lack of a d-pad and the bad touch interface you can expect navigation to be a pain in the @!#!
The main advantages on this phone (Wi-Fi, 8GB HDD, music player, FM-radio, auto-focus camera) can easily be experienced on other phones such as the P1 or the k850 with some minor differences. For example the k850 could be an even better (and cheaper)alternative with a 4gb Memory Stick Pro duo. The turbo-3G will allow fast web-browsing and it has a much better camera and design, not to mention its awesome media center and great music player.
arash: how would you know that? the phone is not yet released, and prototypes sound quality is not the same as the real thing. For anyone reading, I would advise waiting for it to come out before believeing any reviews about anything except general user interface, design, ergonomics, and hardware specs.
