The screen on the Xperia Z has a screen protector installed in the factory (checked) - on both the front and back. So I wouldn't worry about scratches. The Sony logo resides on the screen protector, however, which is just.. bizarre.

Why didn't GSMA test the screen material quality? As shown at several youtube video, Gorilla Glass2 in HTC One is much better scratch resistant than the material used in Xperia Z. I don't like to put the screen protector on the screen, so I really worry if I use Xperia Z, the gorgeous glass body will end overnight due a scratch.

sony disappointed fans (like me) with the xperia z. the dust and water protection is appreciated but the display and camera have been completely disappointing. the older xperias even seem to have relatively better displays and camera results.

i'm not buying the xperia z but i won't also be buying an htc one or galaxy s4. i'll wait for that one perfect sony smartphone which hopefully gets released in the middle of the year.

i'm still a sony fan after all.

HTC One wins because of the followings
            1) Better build quality
            2) Much better screen
            3) Better audio quality
            4) Better CPU
            5) Better video and night shots

Sony's waterproof tech is impressive but not a deal breaker. HTC One is only second to Galaxy S4 at the moment

AnonD-82756, 05 Apr 2013The HTC is better and streets ahead in build quality who on earth buys a Sony SO many brainless idiots on these blogs, slagging off other brands and blah blah blah mine is better than yours. Little children! At this level of performance, you are talking margins as top end phones can crunch through what the average person does with a phone with ability to spare. The so called advantages noticed by geeks are not relevant to 99% of users. I happen to have both the HTC One (thanks to P4U) and the Xperia Z and both are premium built gorgeous handsets. My top two phones to date, for me the S4 will not figure as I am not a fan of Nature UI, Touchwiz or poor build quality even though it will probably be judged better than both these phones. See it is all about personal choice not Mine is bigger than yours, although it probably is.....lol. Get a grip fellas!

                        Objective score is 8-3.
So it's really no contest here.
                        HTC One wins hands down.

                        It seconds only to SIV

If we say feeling or subjective, then you sure can choose anything bro.. It's your hard earned money.

As GSM Arena mention clearly. And classical music is the best quality, but majority prefer pop music.

HTC One is classic in that terms you know.

Oh well, thanks GSM Arena for the comparison, it couldn't have been more clearer!

I rest my case, sit back, and enjoy my meals until ONE and SIV get released and get to pick one :)

I think both are excellent devices, accordingly even through the One uses a newer processor, it doesn't seem that substantial to proceed with a real update, as the benchmarks only pair with an 15% increase, obviously this wouldn't matter to the average user as both are going to be snappy and Benchmarks wouldn't be too concerned unless your a techno freak.

I prefer the Xperia Z in this race, the only advantage the One wins is its 600 Processor, comparatively the design is better on the Z, I compared the display and it seems both are on par, except Sony has a more stronger visible back light.

                                  The decision is yours.
