Middle East or Far east anywhere Blue color available, No I suppose! Black ad nd Grey plentiful. Actually what is traded price, under 800$ is all over. Shocking within weeks prices slashed to historic lows. One way it's good for us, but all non warranty ones. It's psychological only, piece of slip warranty is third party, never replaced unless numbers given by Samsung available. Then water damage is routine excuse. Be aware!
Note 8 Amoled screen is prone to screen burn in. If you're planning to keep the phone for years, better choose a phone with an IPS panel.

Ever read the news of a lady listening to the wired headphone while charging her phone? Safety is one reason why they integrate the headphone jack to the USB charging port. To avoid the use of headset while the phone is charging.
Stay safe everybody, don't use wired headset while charging your phone. Wireless Bluetooth headset is safe in everyway.

I owned S5 for two years and submerge it in water many times but it still works fine.
So don't tell lies cause you are caught.
IP67 is even lower than IP68, why do they need to join the party of non-removable battery.
That is not the reason!
They also joined the glass back party.
They joined the hybrid dual SIM party.
They joined the fingerprint sensor located on the back party.
Sooner or later they will join the removal of 3.5mm jack party.
Rejoice now! Welcome to the party! LOL!

Try put the S5 in a water and it can't lasts even for a minutes. I'm former of S5 users and I was once put it on river and it dead. That's why Samsung used IP68 instead of IP67. But IP68, it needs to fully sealed the back panel. Educate yourself!

Alre... moreSuch rubbish! Bluetooth earpieces have lower volume output than wired. You can even plug in a DAC amplifier via the headphone jack for Hi-Fi audio playback. You can use wireless if you want. When my BT earphones are charging, the headphone jack is a great alternative. I also charge via my USB-C port while listening to music.
F*** Apple for giving the BS using "courage" to sell AirPods. By the way, Mate 10 you want has a headphone jack. So just stop your rubbish talk.

Already tried wired headset and Bluetooth headset of the same brand and it comes out that Bluetooth headset aside from being convenient has better sound quality.
Hence since then, I stopped using wired headset that tangles and sometimes get caught with the nearby protruding stationary objects.

wasox, 26 Oct 2017The s pen is no gimmick, clearly you do not know how to use it, or even touched a single one,... moreThe main reason we get the Note series is because of the S Pen. Samsung may have some confused fluctuations of features removed and put back (Note.5 was the worse with no memory expansion), but Note8 has the best iteration of the S Pen after experiencing past Note series, including their tablets.
If it doesn't have this active digitizer pen, there's no point of the Note series - it will be just an ordinary smartphone like the S series. The masses will be satisfied with the S series.
Other than functions of navigations, picking, annotating images and precision pointing and outlining, reviewers out there are missing some points about the S Pen than making grocery lists as they keep showing.
*Drawing/Painting - ArtRage or Sketchbook surprisingly can replicate close* to real paper or canvas. ArtRage especially has pencil tilt input than just pressure input (real big deal), and simulates clumps of squeezed oil paint and renders 3D shadows of them - yeah, you can shape them with a palette knife and mix multiple pigments.
*For thinking Critically/Creatively - Samsung Notes, OneNote, EverNote are prime examples of virtual notebooks that can be across platforms. Write, doodle, diagramming, picturing what's coming out of your mind are things you do to solve problems and find solutions. Multi-split screen functions are helpful when you're taking notes while you're browsing for information. Consciously doing so with a pen makes you retain the information better than screenshots, as you're actively filtering information and making note of what's important.
*Communication/Collaboration - as designer, I communicate with fellow designers by live sketching while conversing. Projected onto a projector or a 65" TV, you engage an audience. I turn on Do Not Disturb mode for muting notifications (you'd still get them in the background) to prevent pop outs of notifications, sends out texts to callers that you'd call back, and only let in certain contact numbers if they persists. I still get surprised reactions whenever I cast demonstrate how to draw or discuss about designing buildings.
*Air Command functions - yeah, they do cover these, but these are only with a Galaxy Note using the S Pen. Hovering to Glance (referencing an image that can be called to engage), Translate foreign language text paragraphs, and popouts to take peaks of message or email contents are very useful tools.
The specs of the Note8 is great enough, with 6 GB RAM, excellent camera, amazing screen. Even if the next S series will pull ahead with matched or better specs, it can't compete with no S Pen that can offer the above advantages.
wasox, 26 Oct 2017The s pen is no gimmick, clearly you do not know how to use it, or even touched a single one,... moreReally? What does the S pen can do that cannot be done by the finger or third party apps?
Simply gimmick. Only less than 5% of smartphone users do drawing with phone.

Anonymous, 25 Oct 2017I have never use headphone jack in my phones ever since.
I use Bluetooth headset or speaker, ... moreOf course, charging your Bluetooth headset with WIRE, pairing it and listening to inferior sound. And repeating this the next day- so convenient isn't it! Your "wireless" life is awesome indeed
Yes, you can use the wired way with an adapter dangling, remember to carry/not lose/fumble for it. Add more wear on 1 port, no usage while charging....I mean this is an insult to human intelligence if one has to even debate this.
Using new tech just for tech's sake is for zombies, and there's technology that moves you forward it takes you back. Remember what we had 13 yrs ago- proprietary ports with no 3.5mm standard and that's where we're heading again...
