I see a lot of comments about the Xperia XZ Prem but the difference between the two is night and day. When you have two comparable devices with very minor differences on the performance side it comes to: 1. Most important aesthetics in which the Sony is not even in the competition between the two. The design of the s8 is superior in every respect and the screens are incomparable and 2nd eco system functionality. Samsung has a lot integrated in their phones: payment system, iris scanner, a somewhat promising assistant, the always on display, edge functionality and other.
Generally it doesn't look good for the Xperia on the market. Only thing it has going on for it, is a more reasonable price than what Samsung is asking for the S8 twins. Other than that, there is a reason why Sony mobile is struggling so badly for the last years. Only thing they offer to their customers is better camera but other than that its a run of the mill android phone in a market where other manufacturers are doing the same either beter or cheaper
Samsung innovate again..incredible phone! Getting one on release
Design Was Superior, Now Without Physical Home Button It Looks Quite Decent To Me, From 5.1 Inches To Now 5.8 A Very Big Screen, As For Battery Life Still Remain The Same But Because This Device Is Bigger Now It Is Possible More Battery Drainage Compare to The Previous S7 Handset, Camera The Same As Previous, Using The Snapdragon 835 Chip Is Great! Ram As Well Remains The Same Excellent For Multi-Tasking, Nougat Software Build-In. Overall It Is Up To Your Own Opinion To Buy Or Not!
Just watched the reveal and I saw nothing innovative. LG already did the small bezels thing and Sony already proved they got better displays with xzp. Only Sony innovated this year, not samsung. What made me angry was that they were proud of putting the same camera from s7 to s8.. yeah wow.. revolution here folks!
All in all I didn't see anything new except from a processor and a longer display, and that's it? From samsung?
see the full sec... b4 u comment
TechLord//7, 30 Mar 2017Just a little community question: what is your opinion about the rounded screen corners?hate them! Wish it was more square to be honest...
The soundboard actully supports 32 bit sound and not just 24bit, also bluetooth works for 2 headphones at the same time now :)
Harold, 30 Mar 2017Sony is the only company that innovates, lol 960fps Samsung tried to include 1000fps but didn'... moreTotally reasonable. Yes Samsung may have improved the camera software, but it is not as smart as Sony because Sony is pro at photography. Ye, Samsung,IPhone always rated the best at photography, but Sony is already learning. Maybe a few years later Sony will become the king of phones like the time when there is Xperia Z3
Harold, 30 Mar 2017Sony is the only company that innovates, lol 960fps Samsung tried to include 1000fps but didn'... moreOK to be honest. who want's a phone with super slow motion, instant of getting a beautiful phone with every feature that we need, biggest screen on smaller body , also a camera is very good at S7 and on S8. I don't say Sony isn't good, but it feels much more bigger than he is. Galaxy s7 and S8 are the best comfortable phone that you can get.
what is good configuration?
1. have military standard shock resistance
2. double layeres gorilla glass + shatterproof screen
3. 4k screen
4. 4500+ mah removable battery
5. also with ip68 certified
6. 30 MP+ dual camera with more wider aperture and big pixels
if samsung can do this in their next future smartphone i will buy it even for 1000+$ , this is an upgrade , otherwise my current Sony XZ Premium is the best !
LG has abandoned its replaceable battery and they use old techs on its new flagship. There's no more reason for me to stay with them again.
Just a little community question: what is your opinion about the rounded screen corners?

I actually meant iMX260! That's the ExmorRS image sensor of the Galaxy S7.
I wonder, why the Xperia XZp is still stuck at 120fps without time limitation.
But I made another bad experience: that GalaxyS7 slow motion lag bug. I tried to film in slow motion for twenty minutes, which produced 1200*9=9600 MB of data, because Android does not use FAT³² anymore with 4 GB of maximum filesize. 4294967295b=2³²-1.
In the first three minutes, the skipped frames were not common. I don't know yet, whether it is dependent on heat, but after these three minutes, the frequency of skipped frames notably increases. After six minutes, this happens pemanently. In the remaining 14 minutes, the frameskip does not get much worse. But after six minutes, it is so severe, that your audience can get dizzy, and even 60fps are smoother than permanently laggy 240fps.
Ah yes, unlike Apple, Samsung's camera application since S6 (TouchWiz NatureUX 5) is severely vulnerable to screen rotation. Since S5 (2014, NatureUX 3), partially. But that is a different story. And you can't yet zoom into video thumbnails.
Additionally, power saving is disabled, while the battery is charging. That's OK at a wall charger, but what if I use a portable power supply such as a powerbank, where power saving is still relevant?
We don't want an 18.5/9 bezelless display with rounded corners and mono speaker under the phone, which is crappy for photo and video watching... We want an bezelless 16/9 display with front stereo speakers, that's simply perfect!
AnonD-63181, 30 Mar 2017if you samsung fanboys are ok with what you get why are you comparing Samsung with Sony. its b... moreReally?? I thought it's the opposite Sony boys don't have news or anything relevant so they compare the great Samsung to already dieing Sony smartphones.. The only sony phone that was competing was the Xperia z3 since than Sony is nowhere near Samsung
Samsung is the best smartphone. Guys pls u have to wait and get one before u can make any observations about this phone.
Anonymous, 30 Mar 2017Wtf?! Still the same camera as S7?! No 1000fps video recording?! Tf?! Sony Xperia XZ Premium c... moreExcept, that's not going to happen, compared to Samsung, LG and Apple, Sony's phone share here in the US, and other countries has been pretty low. I'm not knocking them, they make some great stuff, but the chances of Sony overtaking Samsung in the phone department are slim and none.
