Samsung to launch a unique tri-fold smartphone this year

Samsung Android Rumors

Last year Huawei stunned the world with the Mate XT, a "tri-fold" smartphone (it folds twice, not three times, by the way). And ever since its introduction we've been wondering when another smartphone maker would come out with its own tri-fold device.

The answer now seems to be "in the second half of 2025", if we go by a new report out of Korea. And it will be Samsung introducing its own version, though when it launches it will be available in a very limited quantity - less than 300,000 units, to be precise.

This is obviously due to the insanely complicated production required for such a device, but we're sure that Samsung will find ways to improve its production capacity if the device turns out to be extremely successful.

That, however, may be hard since it's perhaps not unexpectedly rumored to arrive at the highest price a Samsung foldable ever launched for. The Samsung device's screen will be made by Samsung Display. It will allegedly fold in a different way compared to the Huawei Mate XT, and when it's fully folded the folding screen won't be exposed on one side. This aims to improve durability.

The screen size will differ because of the new folding mechanism. The device will not have an under-display camera.

What Apple innovated in the last 10 years or so? And since they are so great why all the components are produced by 3rd parties?

Well... Depends by each individual needs. I use folds since Samsung 2nd generation and most of the time didn`t need to carry the laptop with me. That is a game changer for some users. Obviously I am talking about productivity. from your example, you ...
