Sorry guys, I went to Greece for several days. No access to the internet here, but I don't know the mms settings for 770sh, I asked both 3 and vodafone customer service, problem unsolved. good luck you.
hey lin, ya can shorten the mp3 on the fone to how many seconds of the mp3 ya wanna use! i.e. if ya wanna use the mp3 as a message tone ya can shorten it down to 2 secs! the reason i shorten songs is to av more handset memory so i can av a few mp3 tracks to use as ringtones instead of 1 big mp3 file, good luck.
hi,lin, i aint got this fone yet but i really want it! been considering it highly! i luv sharp fones! give me your verdict on the fone please! anyway,s as for the ringtones i just shorten em up with nero wave editor! ya can just shorten em up use em as ringtones, that way ya can av a few of em in the hadset memory, which is where they av to be stored to use em as ringtones! if need any help just ask ok!
Hi, had this phone for 3 months and only just managed to download my music via MP3. Just reading Lee and Foxx's comments. Can someone please tell me how you shorten the music to use it as a ringtone. Do you do it on the phone or through the handset manager?
hey guys! any u guy,s know the wap mms settings for the sharp 770sh, i need the contract settings, any help would be great, cheer,s lee.
yeah FOXX got that ctu tone well 2 of them they are quality mate! 2 more questions mate, can u save items to the memory card when sent via bluetooth instead of the handset memory? also when transferring mp3,s and other items to the memory card do ya have to use a cvard reader? or can u send em 2 the memory card while it,s in the fone? thanks matey once again, lee.
Hi lee, I got it from "http://www.ccir.ed.ac.uk/~jad/ringtone.html" and it's totally free. Many formats available, enjoy!
excellent FOXX i think i,ve made up my mind! i think i must have the fone!they can do a lot other fones can,t i.e. shortening tones for message alert is one excellent thing i think! oh by the way 24 i,m a huge huge fan of the series and of the great man jack bauer! kiefer has always been 1 of my idol,s 2!oh by the way where u get ya 24 tone from? thanks for the advice mate, lee.
Hi lee, this time you finally made me some tough questions :-) About the battery life, it's hard to say, I've got many calls (less than 10 mins) but I do send and receive texts (between 10 and 20) everyday. It goes more than 4 days. I'd say the battery life is average, not so bad (life MOTO V3) nor good (like most philips handsets).
About the alarm, I never switch it off, so I've no idea, let me try it for you now. It should be ringing now......
Yeah, it does ring. It also has snooze and off options, and after that it'll ask you whether you want to switch it on. Amazing. I'll never know that without you.
Also good news on message tones. I just tried an mp3 file and it works. You can set the length of the tone as well. It also works with midi, mmf (40 chennals) and AAC audio files. BTW, I'm using the classic CTU ringtone as my message tone, since I'm a big 24 (a TV series) fan!!
FOXX i,ve shortened some mp3,s already so i can av a few in the phone memory for ringtones! also can ya use mp3,s as message tones? i,ve shortened some down to about 5 sec,s! wat u reckon mate thanks lee.
sorry mate meant when ya set the alarm then switch off the fone does the alarm still work? nice1.
thanks FOXX once again for the info! i,m a sharp fan well ithink i,ll go for this 1, 2 questions mate, wat,s the battery like? also does the alarm still work when ya set it then turn it off? thanks FOXX number 1 advice on this fone. keep it up fella, lee.
Hi lee, if I were you, I wouldn't buy 770sh. That probably because I'm not a solid sharp fan, and D600 got almost everything I required (big screen with hight resolution, not a candy bar and be stylish). My previous phone was NOKIA 6680, I had to say that N6680 is a great smart phone with perfect quality, but it was 770sh who realy excited me.
I'd say that you won't be disappoint if you didn't expect any improvements.
pros:little better screen, much better keyboard, slim, sharp quality, vodafone customer service(the best I've ever seen)
cons:it's on vodafone, you have to pay 120 pounds, and an extra 20 pounds to have it unlocked if you still want to use an O2 sim card. I'm using 3 sim by the way.
I've transfered many pics, ringtones and also many contacts from my N6680 to the new 770sh via bluetooth. And you can try it in the store I guess. Hope it is helpful.
thanks FOXX for your reply! i have the d600 and want a change! it,s a great fone but as i,ve sed b4 i,ve always been a sharp fan!i upgrade in a few months time but i,m on o2 so can,t get the 770sh,have u used a d600? if so do u think i,d be dissapointed in the 770sh?it does loke and sound an outstanding mobile fone, for £120! another question mate, guy in the vodafone shop say,s u can,t send pics or tones wit bluetooth only use it with bluetooth headset! that sounds wrong to me maybe he,s on about the gx29! well he should know his job better! thanks again FOXX, LEE.
Hi lee, I'm afraid I have to say that it doesn't have a light indicator, but the external screen will lighten when you get a message or call.
Actually I don't think there is a pure sharp version of 770sh. All handsets of 770sh have vodafone logos. You can get it from all the vodafone stores in Europe except Germany (as far as I known).
Samsung D600 is also a outstanding phone. It has a 2mp camera without autofocus, and also a fantastic QVGA screen. I guess there are more software for D600 than 770sh. But it is thicker than 770sh, and the size of the screen is smaller. Most important, it's not a 3G phone. One of my friends got D600 a year ago, she said the plastic keyboard was a nightmare.
hey FOXX does the 770sh have a a light indicator, like a service light? ya know so ya can have it flashing when ya get a text message or a call? on the sharp site, where the vodafone 1 has vodafone on it, the sharp site,s model has like a cleat sort of plastic, where it has vodafone on their version? let me know mate, ps keep up the good info on this fone mate. oh also wud you rate this fone up against a d600? cheer,s mate lee.
To alice, you can enlarge the memory of the phone by buying a MicroSD card. But the mp3s you copied to the MicroSD card can not be set as ringtones, they can only be played. The default handset code is 9999 in the UK, it should be clearly indicated on your user guide. Try 9999, if it goes negative look up your user guide.
To the anonymous, you should ask the local vodafone retailers. In UK, pay as you go price is only 120 GBP now!! I bought it for 150........
