GuGu, 12 Apr 2017Redmi Pro Dude, better than J7J7 has a better camera and will receive some updates. Dependent on your country, the J7 can also get a decent amount of service under warranty, which isn't the case for the Xiaomi phones in f.e. Europe and the US.
Anonymous, 13 Apr 2017Is there any problem with buying phone that are not widely release like this phone? eg. update. If you care about updates, don't buy a phone with a Mediatek SoC. The RedMi Pro is nowhere mentioned as one of the Xiaomi phones to receive an update anyway. It will probably get an update to MIUI 9, but it will probably still be based on Marshmallow (Android 6). We see this in the Redmi Note series as well. F.e. The Redmi Note 2 never got past Lollipop while it's from the second half of 2015. Most phones from 2014 have gotten Marshmallow.
There are no custom ROM-updates available either because MediaTek doesn't give out the drivers of their SoC's.
For the price, the Redmi Pro is still a pretty good phone though. But just understand that there's a reason why it's so cheap.

used the phone for some days... the issues as following
1. the phone heating very much
2. display is good but brightness abruptly increases and then dicreases
3. network reception is not good, i used jio in the phone. its results are not good.
4. the camera is not good, redmi note 4 is better than this in camera.

the plus point of the phone is- its good looking phone and slimmer also.
Great phone, but the finger print reader is very capricious, sometimes works, sometimes not and the camera sometimes won't connect, requesting to reboot....
Surprisingly good camera and excellent sounds for conversations and music/video.
