I've had the Sony Ericsson W980 phone now for about 2 months. Swapped it for the Sony Ericsson W960i (rubbish).
It's okay.
Very disappointed that the camera does not have flash. But when there is good daylight, it does take good quality pictures what I have uploaded on Facebook.
The Phone also has a FM Transmitter, which I think is a very good feature (if you can find a empty radio station).
The outer shell of the phone is very sensitive, it scratches very easily (need to be VERY carefull that you dont drop it).
The keypad feels comfortable when your writting a text.
The Music Player is fantastic!! The battery life is poor if you have been using the music player all day.
The menu layout seems a little dated.
But as long as the phone lasts me about a 1 or so, I will be happy.

hey people. just got a quick question.
i've heard a few comments about the lag on this phone.
how bad is it really? i've got a nokia N95 that lags quite a bit. is it worse than that?

also the 5 button seems depressed to far. i dont no if its design or another fault.
im gutted as i wanted this phone so badly but now im thinking of getting rid and getting maybe the c902 or a lower w series. i had the w850 and that was exelent and never had a problem with that.

i had w850 for 2 years now..
and just got the w980 2 weeks ago..

w980 batt life is worse than the w850 which is 2 yrs old lol

and the phone is way laggier than the w850 (which update software should solve problem)

I think that my battery life is pretty bad. Re charging every second night. :( Keys are slightly awkward and i find the software a little slow. My previous handset was the W850i and it seemed more responsive.

Hey. I'm considering to get this phone since my 2 yrs contact is coming to an end soon.
I'm wondering, is there a possibility that we will accidentally press the keys on the cover (foward, play, stop button for music) if we keep our phone in the bag/pocket?

Finally I've got the phone now. What I can say is, the music is great, the left channel and right channel do the job well, very well. The bass is not as strong as the megabass, but it is more comfortable to be listened to rather than mega bass. Talking about the camera, I don't really care, bcoz I bought this phone for music.
The FM transmitter could perform well and there is no disturbing noise, but the volume is about a half from the regular radio, so u must turn up the volume bigger than regular radio.

In conclusion, this phone is very recommended for music maniac, but it's not recommended for SMS maniac, coz the distance between one button to another is quite long.
