Gionee Android Announcement

The Gionee Max that was teased last week has arrived in India. It's an entry-level smartphone having Spreadtrum's SC9863A SoC at the helm with 2GB RAM.

It runs Android 10 out of the box and has 32GB of storage onboard, but it also comes with a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 256GB.

The Gionee Max is built around a 6.1" HD+ display, that has a notch up top for the 5MP selfie camera. Around the back, we get a 13MP primary camera joined by a Bokeh camera of unknown resolution.

The Gionee Max doesn't come with a fingerprint reader, but you do get Face Unlock for password-less unlocking.

Fueling the entire package is a 5,000 mAh battery, which supports reverse charging, meaning you can use the Gionee Max to charge other devices.

The Gionee Max comes in three colors - Black, Red, and Royal Blue. It's priced at INR5,999 ($80/€70) and will go on sale in India from August 31 through Flipkart.
