I've a unit since early May and you can be sure that the screen colours are vibrant and well contrasted. The IR blaster is efficient and works on a wide range of appliances, according to the App choosed. (SURE, among other are recommended).

Hey, Guys I am from India and I am planning to buy this phone, but I am a fan of led screens and want to know the quality of the colour reproduction - is it vibrant or dull, also the contrast etc . Are the colours saturated or dull I want to know, please reply. Also how is the working of the IR blaster. Does it support all setup boxes etc from India and is the IR range good enough?

(All phones heat up to some degree but no overheating). Camera is excellent if you know what aperture priority, shutter priority and f number is. The price for me is excellent (now that it has dropped) comparef to the features it offers.

Just change transfer settings from the notification shade: there are at least 3 options: charge only, file transfer (MTP), photo transfer. The V20 has 2 additional options: power supply and midi device. Android has PC file transfer as long as I can remember (jellybean or earlier). If you can't transfer, try with other computers. If the same problem, your phone's micro usb slot is defective, otherwise, you need to check the usb driver installation of your windows PC. It may have conflicts, outdated drivers or other software issues causing the file transfer failure.
Anonymous, 07 Sep 2017Honestly I think the fact that all phones tend to get slower over time gives them 2.5 to 3 yea... moreNever had an android phone that gets slower as the years go by. I believe the lag is primarily caused by the user's lack of understanding as to what contributes to lag in the Android operating system and how to correct it as more and more apps get installed and uninstalled. Many of the installed apps are notorious for 'running on start up', drawing over other apps, running in the background using data and infesting the phone with pop ups. That's the biggest issue iphone owners tend to tell Android phone owners why they prefer the iphone. Unfortunately, the slow down is just not true. It's due to the user's insufficient understanding on how to optimize the system and what causes the lag. I actually still have my 2012 Lenovo P770 and still works as 'fast' (by 2012 standards) as it was when it was brand new. The 4GB internal storage limitations and lack of LTE and fingerprint scanner made me upgrade. Right now it is used mainly as a home FM radio as well as a flashlight and a secondary 'landline' call and text phone. It makes for an excellent voice recorder and portable radio and call and text phone as well during trips and outings as it can broadcast FM radio on loudspeaker even without a headphone plugged in. It would have already ended up in the landfill were it not for its huge (by 2012 standards), user replaceable/removable 3500mAh battery. The 'lowly' features (FM radio, big battery) makes it excellent at doing all the remaining things it can still so well even after almost 5 years. I've had several smart phones after it but sold them all or gave them away. It is because I can afford to upgrade, not because they all became sluggish or died by some accident, mishandling /abuse or internal factory failure.

We were talking about wh... moreHonestly I think the fact that all phones tend to get slower over time gives them 2.5 to 3 years of usage tops. Of course you can still use the phone but the lag makes for an unpleasant experience. If you're lucky you'll still be getting software updates after 2 years. If I had to guess the v20 won't get any more updates after this year.
Remember the G Flex 2? People thought they were getting an awesome deal but in return LG pretty much abandoned the phone for updates, this might be the case for the v20.
Anybody got an update from April onwards, nobody I suppose, very bad LG, at least after 3 months, Themes are really obsolete and very cumbersome to open. Change format and new design as Samsung. V30 is launching in September, nothing much to fanfare, no need to upgrade for 700$° Most have already bought, only few pieces leftovers.

We were talking about which features contribute greatly to prolong the phone's usefulness before complete obsolescence. You are using phone mishandling and abuse (accidental or otherwise) as basis for comparison as to which phone becomes obsolete faster. Two different comparisons. The first compares longevity before becoming obsolete under normal circumstances. The second is comparing phones based on defects and mishandling.

Your V20 may also render itself useless within 12 months if the screen starts developing LG's famous ghosting/scteen retention problem. What then? Replace the screen? It's not waterproof either so you have to be careful in that regard too. With all phones there are issues that can prohibit long term use, you also got to remember how phones tend to slow down and lag more after years of use (ALL phones) so it's generally time to get a new one anyway. Don't be such a LG fanboy you will regret everything you've said should your phone have a problem and you get to experience LG's horrible customer service.
