Your not rooting device just installing the new upgrade version.
The new version is stable and faster compare to the older version.

I also have the same issue. I have checked with LG service they suggested me to do factory reset first and update again. But even though I follow theit process but still facing the issue.Then LG service people ask me to visit the service centre. As I don't want to waste my time.
I have downloaded LG D855 V30a-GLOBAL-YT KDZ version and use LGUP tool to install the update. So far I don't have any issues with this version.

Whether you use pc suite or lg mobile support tool, it shall give you the same latest firmware because all of them connect to the same LG server or database.
There is no way that pc suite or mobile support tool will tell you marshmallow is available but the link i give you says lollipop. It shoul be the same!
