Even if the performance is great I am interested in how the compatibility is
Redmi K40 first I guess
In the meanwhile,it have different version with different frequency, just like d720/800u
It edges out by small margin. And snapdragon is about to come to market very soon. So mediatek is lacking by one year
holly cr@p !!
mediateks advancements are ridiculously faster than its counterparts. chinese technological dominance in each n every field is not so far 👏
AnonD-763241, 30 Nov 2020Qualcomm already dead when they chose samsung foundry for production...the only advantage they... moreHardware part will be preety much same but it will be a game software lets see who can provide better softwate optimization and lets see who heats more and who is more efficient at the same or slightly more power
TechEnthusiast, 30 Nov 2020It's so funny seeing people fighting over chipsets.
Just but whatever chips you want to ... moreAight Mr. Peace and love. Your philosophy is flawed.
Those numbers you claim "don't matter" are what defines the improvements from gen to gen, and they provide the necessary explanation of what have improved to boost the performance in each department, and that's why you see people that get those numbers *discuss* and have *debates* over them to determine which SoC is better. I know I've blown your mind with those 2 words because everytime you see people arguing over something your brain instinctively calls it a fight, but that's just how it is.
Remember something... that is NOT their flagship but they decided to take an approach better than the others: wait 4 to 6 months before releasing the processor with X1 core inside, better GPU and at 5nm process. If this one gets the attention, the next could be the processor I described previously.
Still, this one looks pretty much decent.
DonutTramp, 30 Nov 2020Numbers are still numbers, will have to see how it runs in real world. We've been here be... moreCan u get over the past and focus on the future?. People make mistakes for Christ sake. You can’t just judge them just because they’ve performed poorly in yesteryears. Samsung once made an explosive device; would you then condemn their future devices just because of that mistake?. It seems you’ve forgotten that ‘CHANGE’ is constant!!

You're living in 2015 or something? Because the last time that happened was when MediaTek *introduced* the Helio lineup back in the day. The newer Helio and Dimensity chipsets have all lived up to the expectations, and even more.
Update your information.
I really liked MediaTek's Helio X30 (MT6799) deca-core (10 core) SOC. It used a PowerVR GT7400GE Plus (PowerVR 7XTP-MT4) at 800MHz and rated at just over 200+ GFlops of FP32 compute. The GPU never throttles and it can sustain it's 800MHz GPU core clock, along with the 10nm 2.6GHz CPU cores. This SOC was only seen in the Meizu 7 Pro/ Pro Plus, Elephone X8 and the Vernee Apollo 2. So it didn't get much attention after its launch.
If MediaTek would've used Imagination Technologies (IMG) PowerVR Fusion based GPU's (8000 series) or at least a GT7800 derivative GPU like the one in the iPhone 7 they would've got the attention they deserve, a long time ago. Now with the Dimensity 1000+ and other SOC's and using ARM's new Mali GPU's with the 2nd Gen. Valhal architecture, they will be considered a little more and not get dumped on because of there past SOC's. They were pretty bad. They would use a single core Mali-400 GPU that couldn't even play videos without glitching. It was not a good thing. But, its good to see another manufacturer bring some well needed competition. We need this. It's 2020. Are phones should be able to launch NASA space ships and rockets by now.

Just but whatever chips you want to buy.
Doesn't matter what chipset it is, if consumers are happy then that shouldn't be an issue.
I personally do not prefer mtk chipsets due to my horrible experience with them and that too twice. So yeah it is all about one's choice.
It doesn't matter how the benchmark performance is, what we all should be interested in is the real world performance.
Anonymous, 30 Nov 2020Wait on dec 1 the gap will be wide again 😉No one needs to wait. The Snapdragon 875 results are already out, scoring around 740,000 points. But that's not the point. MediaTek used to make ridiculously horrible SoCs and now they're about a year behind Qualcomm's technology. I know this breaks your fanboy heart, but MediaTek has improved.

Horrible performance at the end? lol so imagine the exynos 990 Locking in simple games, the Dimensity 1000 Plus is supreme and stable in games, without locking and overheating
If you're fooling anyone who thinks this will be the replacement for Dimensity 1000, the MT6893 will be a Premium intermediary.
Numbers are still numbers, will have to see how it runs in real world. We've been here before, haven't we?
Where MTK in numbers were leading but perform horribly at the end.
Anonymous, 30 Nov 2020Dead? You dont know the history of qc 😂 they always used samsung foundry They have been using tsmc for 845, 855, and 865. Its from the 845 onwards that qualcomm started beating exynos in performance and efficiency. This was also when exynos used big custom cores, so it could also be just that.
