Are you using the headset control part from the inbox in the 3.5mm jack? That control part needs to be in the 3.5mm jack because it has the microphone. To the control part you can connect any other headset...
hay i wanna ask for your openion i have a nokia n81 8g and i love everything about it except the cam to u advise me to get a 5800
hi i use 3.5 mm jack to listen to music, but i cannot hear calls on the same, all the previous handsets i had, 3.5 mm jack played dual role, but i m shocked to see this change in 5800, pls advice asap
Is it easy to type on this phone in terms of using it for instant messaging? I never owned or used a touch screen phone before so i wouldn't know.
therock, 19 Feb 2009i pre-ordered this touchscreen phone through NOKIA USA. i cant wait to own it. I was in the... moreu r right. nokia 5800 touch screen is giving constant problems and the phones have been sent to nokia care and they are not being returned for weeks altogether.it is flickering and not starting the main screen. i think this bug is not in any other touchscreen phone. nokia should immedietely take steps to rectify it.(my phone had this problem after one month of my buying it. i have left it with nokia care and even after 12 days there is no reply from them.)
I think it's much better to buy another phone because I already tried this phone for only a month and then I decided to sell it and buy the other.
This phone has lost Nokia's user friendly feature and if you like to text your friend, so just put your choice to another phone. Its qwerty keyboard isn't convenient to use because you have to see to the display to avoid mistakable press. Its handwriting recoginition is also not convenient enough to use. The best way to text is using alphanumeric keypad, but it's also not helping you a lot. Overall, I think it's not a good phone to buy, if you wanna buy touchscreen phone, just buy the others so you will not regret the other day.
Anonymous, 20 Feb 2009Right, because the iphone is not even worth mentioning in here with its proprietary nonsense. ... moreProprietry nonsense?
Is that like Adobe Flash, where you have to install Adobe Flash on the PC or flash light on mobiles?
A closed standard application that forces you to subscribe to Skype if you want to call landlines.
Sorry Apple doesn't support that closed standard either, you can use Fring which lets you use any SIP provider you want including Skype.
So what was that about Apple and closed standards?
Yo dudes this page is all about NOKIA 5800 XPRESS MUSIC! Not samsung or iphone or any cr@ppy models. This is where people share there experi. with others bout 5800. So begone all u 5800 haters. SHOOOOOO! :-)
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Right, because the iphone is not even worth mentioning in here with its proprietary nonsense. The only thing good about it is the software. Not the price, camera, speaker, or especially the call quality.
