Welcome to our recap of the top news articles of 2022. We will now be looking back on the most popular stories from the first quarter of the year with each subsequent quarter getting its own story.
In Q1, we got a few major announcements. Samsung's Galaxy S22 series launched in February. The Galaxy S22 Ultra was the biggest announcement (metaphorically, and literally). It brought back the built-in S Pen, and the squarer Galaxy Note design, while simultaneously bringing refinement to the battery and cameras.
The Galaxy S22 and S22+ got bumped up to a new 50MP main camera and brought back the glass on the back. The Galaxy S22 series adopted the Exynos 2200 but also got the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in some markets.
Other Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered phones began arriving in Q1 - the Honor Magic V was the first foldable with the new chip, while the Realme GT2, iQOO 9 and 9 Pro, Oppo Find X5 Pro, Motorola's Edge 30 Pro and Edge Plus 2022, nubia's Z40 Pro, Honor's Magic4 series, OnePlus' 10 Pro also joined the party.

On the PC side Intel unveiled its new 12th gen processors with a hybrid architecture, and Apple announced the M1 Ultra SoC with a 20-core CPU, and up to 64-core GPU.

It has two 50MP IMX766 sensors, except the ultrawide cam is missing the 5-axis OIS. The custom MariSilicon X ISP is on board, however.
The Find X5 Lite is all but identical to the Reno7 5G.
The phone is slightly different than its Chinese sibling Edge X30.
It’s nearly identical to the global model but with slower 33W charging.
The phone is also the first with a 64MP Sony IMX787 sensor for the main camera.
The X4 Pro 5G packs a 108 MP camera, quite an upgrade over the X3 Pro. The M4 Pro is a 4G version of the M4 Pro 5G from last year.

The two devices are quite similar to each other. The A13 is a 4G phone and changes quite a bit from the Galaxy A13 5G.
