[deleted post]It doesn't do videocalls the old fashioned way using a 64k stream that phone networks use, it uses a new chat based protocol.
It's open source so others will be able to use it on computers for example.
Anonymous, 16 Jun 2010Also video conference is only through wifi and only to an another iphone 4.So lame and outdated. So new using a new open source chat protocol developed by Apple, a protocol which will punch through firewalls to communicate at a higher level than the 64k stream phone networks use.
64k is why videocalls have had such low quality in the past.
Anonymous, 16 Jun 2010i have just known that 4g is just its name, this phone DOESN'T support 4th generation wireless ... moreIt's the 4th generation of iPhones.
In a year it will get a new OS giving it a new lease of life.

I am not impressed at all. I would expect something more from iPhone and looking at specification it isn't 4G phone but still 3G. Lookg like it only 4 generation of iPhone. Comparing it to Nokia N900 with Maemo5 (Linux) I would buy Nokia....

i have just known that 4g is just its name, this phone DOESN'T support 4th generation wireless networks. It will probably be outdated in less than a year, seriously apple sucks, but some people have closed eyes and are not thinking probably.
Love the phone, usinging a htc atm, not really liked the iphones before now but this looks promising..... just cant justify the price for a phone :S????
khan, 16 Jun 2010i phone4 needs a micro sim.. can any body tell me what is micro sim,Development of the micro-SIM
The micro-SIM was developed by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute along with SCP, 3GPP (UTRAN/GERAN), 3GPP2 (CDMA2000), ARIB, GSMAssociaton (GSMA SCaG and GSMNA), GlobalPlatform, Liberty Alliance, and the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) for the purpose of fitting into devices otherwise too small for a mini-SIM card.[1][2]
The form factor was mentioned in the Dec 1998 3GPP SMG9 UMTS Working Party, which is the standards-setting body for GSM SIM cards,[3] and the form factor was agreed upon in late 2003.[4]
The micro-SIM was created with backwards compatibility in mind. The major issue with backwards compatibility was the contact area of the chip. Retaining the same contact area allows the micro-SIM to be compatible with the previous, larger SIM readers through the use of plastic cutout surrounds. The SIM was also designed to run at the same speed (5 MHz) as the previous version.
The chairman of EP SCP, Dr. Klaus Vedder, said[4]
"With this decision, we can see that ETSI has responded to a market need from ETSI customers, but additionally there is a strong desire not to invalidate, overnight, the existing interface, nor reduce the performance of the cards. EP SCP expect to finalise the technical realisation for the third form factor at the next SCP plenary meeting, scheduled for February 2004."
I hope this answers your question.
I can't wait to get mine, already talked the missus into getting one too. This is one awesome phone.
