Asus Android Gaming

Asus went all-in with the specs of the ROG Phone II, and it looks like a lot of people appreciate that - at least in China, where it's already logged more than 2.5 million reservations on JD.com, one of the main online stores over there. These aren't pre-orders, but you do need to reserve in order to be able to then buy a device in a flash sale.

The first flash sale of the ROG Phone II happened today and the entire batch of 10,000 devices was gone in 73 seconds. Asus apologized to the people that weren't fast enough to snag one, and promised that its production line staff are working to ensure that the next sales, on August 4, 7, and 12, are better stocked.

The ROG Phone II isn't just jam-packed with incredible features, it doesn't just boast a standout gaming-centric design, it's also pretty affordable in China - especially considering the specs. The Tencent special version goes for CNY 3,499, which is $508 or €458 at the current exchange rates. This comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The 'classic' model with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage is priced at CNY 5,999 ($871, €786).

The ROG Phone II comes with a 6.59-inch 1080x2340 120Hz AMOLED touchscreen (with 240Hz touch sensing and HDR10 support), the Snapdragon 855+ chipset, a 48 MP (wide) + 13 MP (ultra-wide) dual rear camera system, a 24 MP selfie snapper, and a 6,000 mAh battery. It runs Android 9 Pie. If you want to learn more about it, check out our hands-on review.

How about checking things, instead of creating theories?! except for the cheapest Tencent Elite version with limited support, the known ROG Phone 2 versions coming with global radio support, incl. all 700MHz FDD-LTE Bands + B66 and B20 f...

yeah, I am rooting for ASUS as well, I like the design, but it is too big for me. Unfortunately I had to gave up on the first one too due to the faulty screen and they had no more in stock in the UK.

Well, haters gonna hate anyway. Asus has been working on their smartphones harder than most companies. So naturally, it should pay off in the end. Good luck Asus, you're a true underdog that deserves more attention.
