For me, I wash my Z2 with mild soap and then direct wash with plenty of tap water to completely rinse off the mild soap from the waterproof phone, therefore my Z2 waterproof still fine for daily use even after 3 years usage.

- Yes, my Z2 doesn't get unstable software because the software is still quite smooth and have the lowest crash rate because of the lightweight UI. My friend's iPad mini after update to the latest iOS has become slowdown and sometimes get hang/lag, just frustrated. As a user, we love the updates and we want the stable update, Apple iOS update are always come with bug and flaws does it really perfect?
- Yes, I listen to music with my Z2 and I have played some games like Pokemon Go and take some photos and web surfing, of course watching some Youtube...etc etc. For your information I know my Z2 isn't a perfect smartphone, I know its heat dissipation is a bit slower (because the heat pipe is a bit tiny) and rise up when taking 4K video record/AR, but I NEVER get damage my phone by heating issue (about 45 degree Celsius) and the heating issue already improved until recently flagships and Sony have solved on XZ Premium as you can see this:

If you know(Which you definitely not!), Processors tend to heat a lot since it has no holes for the heat to escape. And having a waterproof phone design like xperia series has no heatsink or whatsoever to reduce the heat coming from the snapdragon processor. And if the processor reach the critical point. Any apps that were running would be closed. And the unit would shut down.

Since your Z2 is going strong. My iphone 7 plus is stronger! With powercase, 64 bit apps, processor, and 64 bit OS. Full optimized apps, METAL API optimized apps, 256GB of internal storage from which I had installed a lot of apps and games, videos, and even manga's, Able to run heavy intensive apps and AR games without any flaws. FULLY update support for 5 years or more. So how good is your phone since it only a 32 bit OS, 16GB internal storage, runs on marshmallow, and even doesn't last a whole day since the OS itself drains battery faster?

For example, how good is the audio jack po... moreI have immerse my Z2 into the water and it is fine because I have read the user guidelines I know before immerse into water must close all the cap tight and after immerse into the water must SHAKE OFF the MOISTURE and WIPE with DRY CLOTHES and it will completely dry up about 3 hours later. After immerse into the water my Z2 speakers is still fine WITHOUT losing much of the ringtone volume because I had followed the user guidelines, but if I wish to charge my Z2 I will wait until the 3 hour later to make sure all moisture has gone, this actually same with any waterproof smartphone especially with capless 3.5mm port and USB port.
A stubborn user will not follow the user guidelines they think they know everything but it is not me, how is your Xperia ZL, is it still alive?

Your link show the LG G6 test... Yes LG G6 is military standard but I worry their software (bootlooing), anyway that's is not your overpriced iPhone 7 Plus quality either! For me, my Xperia Z2 still strong after many falls and flung on floor and even 3 times fallen on asphalt Road and crash by the car door...... that make me even trust the Sony's quality. Front facing speaker quality is a little bit off than the original un-soaked speaker, rear camera isn't working. This happen after I accidentally dropped my xperia on a bucket of water. As I say the competition will never end, just like the Samsung Note 7 fiasco then the recently flagship depleted battery cannot charge...and I don't ever fall my Samsung Wonder but it becomes brick even it has the original battery, the Samsung hardware home button drives me crazy it is lag very very lag. After these troubles I realize choose a quality and sturdy smartphone can save money. I think I make a wise decision overall although Xperia Z2 isn't a perfect phone. The XA Ultra comes with Qnovo battery charging technology just waiting for your iPhone 7 Plus battery throttling because Apple announces only the iPhone X and 8 come with a hardware update to avoid throttling issues.

I am a 2 week's new user do you know that?!
The second time flung incident was on my awakening from my bed and I really don't know the phone is accompanying me and turn around kick my quilt and the phone just fly over my bed and hit the wall (the wall reflect the sound from my recall)...
I am the ex-Samsung user, I have Samsung S2, Wonder, Young, so the flagship midrange and entry-level I had experience. I also try out my friend's iPhone 4s he just wants to show me a photo and hang at there, it reminds me it could be caused the battery throttling. I also try out the iPad mini headphone to listen to music, I must say the Xperia Z2 for headphone music listening is superb! IPad mini's headphone music listening is mediocre! Recently I have the Xperia XA Ultra, it has a beautiful screen loudspeaker Qnovo and selfie.
I really need a durable smartphone so I choose the Xperia Z2 (uni-body aluminum frame, Omni balance, monolithic and IP65/68) because my previous Samsung phones all MUST use a case and it accumulated the dust on the inner case although it doesn't weight up but really annoying. You told me you are using a powercase, did you wash your iPhone 7Plus if it keep a lot of dirt or stains (bacteria)? I wash Z2 with tap water daily, Of course, I had read the user guidelines from Sony official site.
The smartphone has many features, there are pros and cons. At least I know the iPhone waterproof policy is on paper only, so I don't envy you. Compare to Apple, Sony Xperia still more value and worth for money (I have some bias here because I am familiar with Android OS)
