We recently had the Razr 2025 over and we mused about how it was actually the Razr 2024 but with new colors. Well... The Razr+ 2025 doesn't even get new colors. Some of last year's color options are not carried forward though.
The colorways that remain from the old model's lineup are this Mocha Mousse colorway, which is Pantone Color of the Year 2025, then Midnight Blue and Hot Pink.
The Hot Pink color come in a sort of velvety finish, while the blue and mocha colorways are vegan leather. Indeed, the material feels very supple and grippy to the touch.

The new model carries an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance, while the 2024 one was only labeled IPX8. So the water resistance has remained unchanged, but the new Plus is now safe against solid particles larger than 1mm entering its insides... which we feel the previous model would have easily kept out too.
Motorola says they've reinforced the hinge with titanium this time around, while previously they only talked about stainless steel. We're not sure where marketing talk meets reality, exactly, but it all feels reassuringly sturdy (just like last year).

The hinge can remain open in intermediate states, of course, and it also snaps positively at both extremes. The frame is made of 6000-series aluminum that's treated to a glossy finish, while the cover screen is protected with Gorilla Glass Victus.
That cover screen is what sets the Plus apart from the vanilla model. This more upmarket Razr has (almost) the entire top half covered with display, while the lower model has a strip of plastic to indicate that you didn't want to splurge. Both have the googly eyes camera cutouts, of course.
On the inside, there's not a lot to split the two Razrs. The 6.9-inch foldable OLED display of the Razr+ 2025 is physically the same as that on the Razr 2025, and they both lie nicely flat when unfolded. There's a minor waviness in the middle, but as we've come to expect from Moto clamshells, it's nowhere near being sharp or jarring, or anything.
The Razr+2025's SIM tray can accommodate a single nano SIM, and the phone also supports eSIM so it's travel-friendly.
The physical controls are laid out in all the usual places - both the tiny volume keys and the power/Gemini button are on the right side of the top half of the handset.
The power button is home to the capacitive fingerprint reader, which we found to be responsive and dependable even when operating it with the left index finger. In settings, you can choose whether you'd want it to require a click to engage or work with just a tap.
