The Motorola Razr+ 2025 is only sold in the US for the time being, and it goes for $1000 for the only available 12GB/256GB version. It doesn't have an international alter ego either, strictly speaking. All that makes comparisons easier than usual for us, though it doesn't necessarily make it all too easy for the phone itself.

For starters, the Razr+ 2024 is essentially the same phone, but it's now discounted to $800. We're not seeing any obvious reason to pay the extra $200 for the 2025 model, if you've fully settled on the Plus feature-set.
You could save a little more and get a different feature-set though - the vanilla models come in at $700 for the current version and $600 for the 2024 one, and you'll get a fairly decent ultrawide camera in place of the telephoto on the Plus, though the overall performance takes a hit.
On the other hand, if you're inclined to spend more, $1300 will get you the Razr Ultra 2025. That will mean nicer cameras - the lack of a telephoto is offset by the capable main camera, and there's an ultrawide module too, plus top-tier performance.

You could look at the Galaxy lineup and pick up a Z Flip6 for $1100 instead of the Razr+ 2025. The Galaxy doesn't have any obvious major advantages though, unless you're specifically after the Samsung experience.
Razr+ 2025 money buys you an iPhone 16 Pro and we can see how that's going to be a vastly different route - the iPhone doesn't bend - but an iPhone Pro is always a safe bet. Alternatively, you could stay in the Android camp and opt for a Pixel 9 Pro at about the same price point as the Razr.

This year's Razr lineup is a little underwhelming when it comes to upgrades - outside of the Ultra models, that is. In that sense, the US-only Razr+ 2025 is probably in the weirdest position of being virtually the same as the 2024 one, raising some questions about its marketability.
The 2025 model, just like the 2024 model, has its share of strong points. The nice displays inside and out are among them, tied in with some of the best foldable software experience you can get. A telephoto camera in this segment is hard to find, and the photo quality overall is pretty solid. Great speakers and fast charging are among the welcome little things too.
What's harder to like is the complete lack of an ultrawide camera. And ultrawide is probably the least used camera lens on those regular phones, but with a flip-style foldable, it really comes into its own when you want to take a selfie complete with the surroundings. Additionally, the less than ideal thermal performance is hard to avoid with a powerful chipset in a foldable body, so it's sort of understandable, but the meh battery life could have been addressed one way or another.
Ultimately, the Razr+ 2025's main disadvantage is its lack of improvements over the previous model. So if you like the Razr+ 2025, you might as well get the Razr+ 2024, at least until both are available for sale at the same time.
